Part 27: New friends?

STAY DOWN!  WE'RE HERRH !!!!  STAAHHHHHPPPPP!!!!   GOD DAM-IT....  Stay down....  I guess they are tracking the zombie movement some how, maybe that is why they shot our direction?  But Stay down and don't move.   

I know that sounds good honey but they may not want us to be friends, so we have to be careful.   I know we are almost out of supply's, but....  you guys may be right, they may be able to help. Throw me that book, Yes give it too me... I dono, I hope son I really hope so....

Part 26: change is in the air

STAY DOWN.....   it's the zombies that are on fire... they are still moving and setting fire to everything they run into... how did they get on fire?  They are getting pushed this way by the neighbors retaining walls  across the street.  WHAT WAS THAT?  THOSE ARE SHOTS. STAY DOWN.....  They are down, the shots were meant for them.

Part 25: defensive positions

Oh, that smell is horrible, here use this towel, put it over your mouth.  Keep the blinds drawn we don't need any more smoke getting in here than is already here.  I don't know if they still work the expiration date is 3 years ago but if fire gets on the house use'em, we don't want to waste the water until it is a last resort...

The fire is probably 3 blocks away near the bus stop, but it's the shooting I am worried about. Ava, Stay in the center hall. Buddy, you stay upstairs and see if anybody come toward the house.  Damit, this house is to close to the road, we need to stay out of the way. this could get bad fast.

PART 24: A worse thought

It looks like they are running away not toward something, I DON'T KNOW, let me think, let me think....  

MORE? OK I think we have another problem.  The Zombies are being pushed forward by something, I think it is people, you know normal people.  If that is the case we may be in more trouble than with the Zee's.  How?  Well most of our defense is based on the fact that they can't climb to get to us. and even if they got to the porch they aren't smart enough to get their way in.  But humans well there are folks more desperate than us out there, willing to do, well nevermind just keep watch and DONT make any noise and stay out of the windows.

But why are they running away from them.....?

PART 23: The smell is bad enough

OK HERE WE GO, I SEE A TROOP OF THEM COMING UP FROM THE SOUTH, This is what we have been training for, Buddy get your weapons and backpack and move the ladder upstairs.  Ava go up to the attic with the food and stay put, you know how to use the hatch if they get in. Honey, They can't climb so that is the safest place we have until we know what is happening.  BUDDY, How many do you spot?, I have 7 and more coming up the road.  IF they surround the house start shooting but NOT until they are working together.  If one comes this way don't draw the others attention by firing until you're sure they've made us.  How many are in the backyard? WHAT None!  Mine aren't staying either, lets hope they keep moving.

Part 22: Edge of the night

Shhh.. no honey everything is secure their not here, your brother and I were just talking about the sky, can you see it?.  Yes it is red, well someone is burning something.  I don't know what honey.  Get your rest now, I'm going to look in on your brother.  What's that? Yes honey I am a little worried but no more than I worry about everything else I do to keep us safe.  I love you too, get your rest.

Part 21: If Exodus comes

What, another fire?  Where? I can't believe this isn't that four this season?  What do you think it is?  I just hope it doesn't blow this way.  Well for one  it could drive them our way or worse the fire could consume our little castle here.  And you know how hard it has been to defend, imagine being out there with Them, on the run with no where to go.  I'm sorry i didn't mean to scare you but this is the world we are living in. We've been here talking awhile I'll go look in on your sister and you scan the perimeter from your room.

PART 20: The sun still lights the world...

Open the window and let some air in.  It's getting warmer but Winter is far from over.  I for one didn't think we would still be looting in late April.  Look what I found.  You don't? Well it's a solar lantern some guy up the street used to be a piano teacher and must have got this as a gift and never used it.  It was still in the box, one mans treasure...   We'll use it as a space heater when it gets super cold again.  I grabbed a few other things, here catch.  Yes It's real, I remember you always liked Pineapple.  Go ahead get the can openner, share them with your sister we all need a little citrus.

I was hoping you wouldn't ask, yes of course, they are always out there.  Slow, but desperate I guess, I know that you are scared when I go into houses but we need to  get ready to be stuck in our house for the next six months.

Part 19 Long Cold Winter

I know it's cold,  listen stay together and I will try to find something else to burn.  I am a little scared to burn any more of the furniture after the smoke and smell the end table made.  I guess the chemicals in them makes them unfit to burn.  I think there might be a ancient set of old encyclopedias in the basement.  I know honey, it's cold. I don't know but I hope that it warms up soon.  I have never seen it this cold in December.  It's like the world has gone super cold.  I don't know what is worse, those monsters or the biting cold.  I'm going to go find some more burnables.

PART 18 Staying put....

OK, good luck, and we'll wait to hear from you later.  Here I have something for you. It's a book, I've read it many times and Like it very much.  If Civilization has been hit as hard as you say i think it is a good idea to pass good stories and ideas along to others that might need them.  Oh I hope so, we are strong but the close quarters are becoming more difficult.  We'll be here.. good bye.

PART 17 OUTSIDE

OK I understand, it makes sense I guess hundreds of people all choking the air waves with cries of help.  Yeah I've heard some of them, so I get your point.  So how bad is this thing, how many are, out there? What 60%, whoa, what?  And you said that thousands of people have died in their homes on top of that?  This is worse that I thought.  So I've seen some cars here and there are the roads passable now? Really that bad, I guess we are staying put them.  What's next for you, how many radios are you going after?  I am surprised that the car didn't send more of them this way.  You don't say, they get slower the colder it gets. Good to know....

My daughter, she likes to feed the birds, so we have a huge bulk bag of bird seed.  We've been able  to catch birds to supplement our canned goods, not ideal but you've seen worse by now out there. It gets us by But with Winter on the way, well... we can worry about it then.

PART 16

You're a lucky one, what are the chances you would  crash into the one house that had people in it?  How is downtown then? Really? So we made the right call staying put. Oh I'm sorry this is Ava and Buddy, they are my little troopers. Good to meet you to Tony.  We've been here since August when this all started. It's been a long Autumn. So what made you crazy enough to go out into the mean streets? 

Yes I've been calling on the radio. I made it myself, used to mak'em as a kid, wasn't sure it was working thou.  No I haven't ever heard an answer. Oh, so someone could hear me, great. Why didn't they answer them?  What? Why the hell not? The Government, Do you really believe there is a rescue plan that I am blocking? Oh so you had to come out here and risk your life and MY families security so I would get off the radio?  Has the whole world lost its mind?  

Part 15 NEW BLOOD

It's a car! how the hell did they get through the burn outs? Oh my god it's turning into the house, it's going to hit the porch.  GET UP STAIRS NOW! uggh, wha, what's happening? HEY! ShiTHEAD, Get out of the car, they're coming now!  GET UP! Take my hand, TAKE IT! Get in and go up-stairs.  Once I've secured the perimeter, I'll be up. GO!

PART 14 The calm before...

Well it could be awhile, Thank god we got that Skyline Chili for my birthday, those 24 cans will really go far.  We have a lot of Pasta. We need to only take what we need, this needs to stretch for the duration.  We might need to let the cats out, well we don't have enough food for them to stay here too honey.  Lets go find your brother.  I know, I do too, maybe we can catch some snow this Winter, we will need more water by then.  Did you hear that? Sounds like a. . . motor

Part 13 Harsh reality

No you can't throw a rock at them.  We don't want them to know that we're here.  Well for awhile we are going to stay here and wait.  We have enough food, firewood, and I found a few more batteries in your old toys, I hope that gets us through winter. I don't know what will happen after that.  You hope the Police come? If they haven't been here yet I don't think they are coming. Now come on, you need to be strong, crying won't make this sickness go away.  

Part 12 Strange Arsenal

You're fine, you're good.  Listen to me you did a great job buddy.  They didn't even move toward the door.  Lets look at what we have here.  Wow! we can do some work on this and separate the side of these tongs, we can have two blade weapons. Oh, nice that is a strong spatula, good weight to it, triple riveted, sharp beveled edges , this will be good for close combat for sure.  I want you to get used to carrying this one with you everywhere you go.  o.k.?  whew, lets go count them again from the roof.

Part 11

Just stay down low, as low as you can.  If they see any movement they will come closer to the window and that will only draw more to the house.  I need you to go into the sun room and grab the grill set.  There are some giant blades in that kit that might come in handy.  Your going to have to craw on the floor and bring it back.  Now listen there's one more thing.  The back screendoor is next to the grill set, I need you to reach up and lock it. But you have to stay low and don't make a sound.  I know, but we have to create a barrier if we plan to make a stand here.  Ok, I'm going to open the door. 

Part 10 A long night

Yes honey I'm here.  I haven't fallen asleep yet , I watching the neighborhood.  Yes, I'm afraid they are, they are still out there. It's hard to say honey it's dark. No honey I'm fine, you go to sleep now. I will be here and nothing is going to happen, close your eyes dear, i'll see you in the morning

Part 9 It's getting dark

I don't know, the T.V. said that people were sick, and that sickness made them want to do bad things.  Well, things that people shouldn't do to one another. No, they didn't mean to do it, but they can't control it, hurting people has consumed them.... we better go upstairs, it's getting dark..

Part 7 Stairs

OPEN UP THE GOD DAMN DOOR! I don't give a sh!t what I told you.  I have your sister i need to see if see is ok.  Open up the door.. Thanks, what the hell is wrong with you? Your sister could have been in danger.  Alright honey are you ok?  Can you tell me what happened?  Sure I do, So you wanted to help your friend, I understand.  What happened then?  Who bit her?  Did she bite you?  Are you sure?
